The Aeolian archipelago consists of seven islands ,
unique for their natural beauty, history, art and
culture. They are declared "World Heritage " in 2000.
They are located south of Italy, in the northeast of
Sicily and part of the province of Messina. The islands
of volcanic origin as Vulcano and Stromboli, are among
the most active volcanoes in Europe. Despite their
geological formation, the islands have thick vegetation
and wide, and the territory there are unique plants in
the world that have been the subject of several studies.
The islands are rich in mythological history and even if
are inhabited by few people, they are sufficiently
equipped to accommodate tourists. Art, history, culture,
monuments, churches with frescoes and traces of various
dominations are visible in all the islands of the
archipelago inhabited since the Stone Age. On the island
of Lipari there is an archaeological museum among the
largest in Europe. Beautiful coastline and beautiful
clear waters.
