by Night with the
Sciara del
Fuoco(Street of
Fire). Boarding and
departure from the
port of Lipari
Marina Corta.
ITINERARY:
At the start you
will skirt around
the island of Lipari
(Castle, Monterosa,
Capo Bianco and
pumice quarries),
before landing at
the port of Panarea,
you can admire from
the boat the small
archipelago in front
of the island with
Basiluzzo,
Spinazzola, Lisca
Bianca, Dattilo,
Bottaro, Lisca Nera,
Panarelli and The
Ants and the bay of
Cala Junco.
Arrival to the port
of St. Peter of
Panarea and stop for
the free tour of the
island, swim and to
have lunch (optional
- extra charge) in
a typical
restaurant.
Panarea has no
passable roads for
vehicles, the only
means of
transportation are
small taxis powered
by batteries. People
on the island are
concentrated in
three districts: St.
Peter, Ditella and
Drautto, the streets
of downtown are
lined with small
souvenir shops,
clothing, refreshed,
bars, pizzerias.
For those who like
long walks you can
follow paths and
trails, lined with
bushes of mastic,
myrtle and capers to
reach Timpone from
where visitors can
enjoy a wonderful
view of the Aeolian
archipelago.
Bathing on the
beautiful beach of
Zimmari, reachable
in a short time with
small electric taxis
or on board small
fishing boats that
are found in the
harbor.
Lunch (optional) in
one of our partner
restaurants, with a
menu of fish with
capers produced on
the island and
Malvasia, a liquor
of a particular
sweetness.
In late afternoon
boarding of
passengers and
departure to the
island of Stromboli.
Before arriving to
the Port of
Stromboli Scari you
will observe
the clear waters of the sea where you
can see the seabed
and in some places
will be observed at
the surface bubbles
as a result of an
active underwater
volcano.
Reached the port of
Stromboli, landing
of passengers for
the free tour of the
island. Even
Stromboli there are
avenues for cars but
only small cars
driven by batteries
or "nice" bike bee
engaged to transport
people for a
panoramic tour of
the island.
The center of the
island can be
considered the
Piazza San Vincenzo,
a huge "terrace"
where you can admire
a fabulous view. A
leisurely stroll
through the narrow
streets lined with
Stromboli souvenir
shops, clothing
purely seaside,
until you reach the
house where they
stayed the director
Roberto Rossellini
and actress Ingmar
Bergman during the
filming of the movie
"Stromboli land of
fire".
For those who enjoy walking,
you can
climb the
volcano
Stromboli
until
the Observatory
about 400m
high,
from this location
it
is possible
a
panoramic view
of
the
Aeolian
islands.
At sunset we will
continue the
navigation to reach
the Sciara del Fuoco
where, from the
boat, it will be
possible to admire
the fabulous scenery
of the pyroclastic
explosions of the
volcano.
Before you reach the point
where
the boat
will stop
in
the open sea,
it
will sail
along
Strombolicchio,
the ancient
lighthouse marine,
Ficogrande,
Piscità
and
Ginostra.
10:00pm about
returning to the
port of Lipari
Marina Corta.
SECOND DAY:
8:00am Breakfast.
10:00am leaving the
rooms. Possibility
to leave luggage in
the luggage room of
the Hotel.
Free tour of Lipari
island.
12:00am Excursion by
boat from Lipari to
Vulcano.
The passage from the
island of Lipari to
Vulcano is carried
aboard typical
Aeolian boats. While
navigating to the
port of Vulcano, you
can admire a unique
and unforgettable
coastal landscape,
small houses of
white color, inlets,
coves, caves ,
beaches reachable
only by boat,
sculptures created
over the centuries
by the weather and
volcanic eruptions
on the walls of the
rocks.
Before coming to the
port of Levante in
Vulcano, you will
see the smoke coming
out from the
imposing volcano
that dominates the
island and the
strong smell of
sulfur,
characteristic of
the island.
Landed on the
island, a few meters
on the right is the
large natural pool
of sulphurous mud, a
container of hot
water brackish
plunging creates
benefits for those
who have respiratory
ailments, those who
suffer from
arthritis or have
skin diseases.
Not far away are the
BLACK SANDS, a beach
of fine sand of
black color where we
recommend a
refreshing swim in
these waters clean
and pristine. For
those who enjoy
walking or hiking
you can make the
ascent of the
volcano whose crater
is about 390m above
sea level. The climb
is not very
demanding, adopt
comfortable tennis
shoes or better
still by trekking
shoes, the total
duration between
ascent and descent
is about 3 hours.
For those who want
to learn more about
geology of the
Aeolian Islands, it
is advisable to go
to the Center of
Volcanology, where
qualified staff will
give ample
information on the
origin of the
islands and their
training.
Optional lunch
(extra charge) will
be the opportunity
to eat freshly
caught fish, cooked
with traditional
recipes and enjoy a
glass of Malvasia, a
sweet wine produced
in these islands in
the sun-kissed.
5:00pm boarding from
Vulcan to return to
Lipari. Collect your
luggage from the
hotel.
