MILAZZO-LIPARI -VULCANO BEACH-MILAZZO

Transfer to Lipari Island. A member of our team will be waiting on the Island and will give you all the information about the program and its itinerary.
Just after leaving the port of Milazzo, you will have the opportunity to admire from the boat, the promontory of Milazzo castle built above the old town of Milazzo, probably of Arabic origin. The castles has been developed and improved during the time Norman and Swabian currently declared as a national monument. In 1608, the Cathedral of Milazzo was built inside the castle (now Old Cathedral) and the palace of the jurors. After several years, the castle is back open to the public.

Continuing navigation and before reaching the islands to visit, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the archipelago Eolien declared World Heritage by UNESCO in 2000.

After arriving on the island of Lipari, you will have a chance to visit the island with our Bus Tour (optional)
lasting about one hour.

WHAT WE CAN SEE IN THE ISLAND OF LIPARI:
THE CATHEDRAL OF ST BARTHOLOMEW
The Cathedral of St. Bartholomew was built by Count Roger, who made a donation to Brother Ambrose, who was appointed the first abbot of all the Aeolian Islands. This donation was confirmed by Roger II in 1134.
THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL PARK
The archaeological area of Contrada Diana in Lipari extends into the vast plain bounded to the east by the city center, to the west by the slopes, to the south by the Vallone Ponte and to the north by the Vallone S. Lucia. To the wide area of the park belongs the fenced area adjacent to the Bishop's Palace, located south of via Diana (now Marconi), and other small archaeological sites nearby. The archaeological area of Contrada Diana was established in 1971 as a result of archaeological excavations conducted by Luigi Bernabò Brea and Madeleine Cavalier, which had revealed a long stretch of the old Greek city walls of the fourth century BC. The idea of the Park was of the Bishop's Curia and the Municipality of Lipari, in order to create a green lung for the town.
REGIONAL ARCHEOLOGICAL MUSEUM
The Aeolian Museum, one of the most beautiful in Sicily, display all its exhibits over several buildings in the Castle of Lipari. These are findings from the excavations carried out intensively in the Aeolian Archipelago from the 40s up to today.
DOWNTOWN and CORSO VITTORIO EMANUELE
Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the main road axis of the historical center of Lipari. In this road you can admire the many shops and look at the many streets of the island facing this road..

* BUS TOUR (OPTIONAL)
The tour includes a first stop at the Belvedere of Quattrocchi for a panoramic view of the Island of Vulcano  and the Faraglioni of Lipari. Then we drive to the north-west side until we reach the village and Pianoconte and Quattropani. Stop at the viewpoint of Legno Nero, where you can see the islands of Salina, Panarea, Stromboli, and Filicudi Alicudi. The tour will continue until our final stop at Acquacalda to see the pumice quarries. After returning to the port of Lipari Canneto passing from the famous beach, we arrive at the Cathedral of St. Bartholomew, where the group of participants will be able to go "on foot" to visit the Aeolian Museum, one of the most famous of Europe in terms of the Underwater Archaeology, which displays a myriad of artifacts discovered through intensive excavations by world-renowned teams of archaeologists since the late 40’s in the Aeolian Archipelago. After this we will have time for swimming and relax with some shopping in the Corso Vittorio Emanuele.


DEPARTURE FROM LIPARI
Assisted by our staff you will be boarding a private boat for the Sea Tour to Vulcano. During the navigation, lasting about 30 minutes, you will be able to see some beauties represented by the coast of the island.

ARRIVAL ON THE ISLAND OF VULCANO
Arrival on the island of Vulcano and STOPOVER until 7:30 p.m.
WHAT WE CAN SEE IN THE ISLAND OF VULCANO:
THE SULPHUREOUS MUD-BATHS
They are one of the peculiarities of Vulcano. From the port on the right, the shelter of a rock with incredible colors, shades ranging from yellow to red, a natural basin sulphurous mud known for their therapeutic properties, you can enter the pond, where the water is enriched and intensely mineralized by volcanic bellows and where sulphurous fumes out. mud is a panacea to cure arthritis, airway diseases and skin diseases.
CLIMBING THE CRATER OF VULCANO
The excursion to the crater is an unforgettable walk. It is a wonderful feeling that reveals an inconceivable world.
BLACK BEACHES
Is the most famous beach of the island and is located in the western part of the natural. A fine black sand, so brilliant, of volcanic origin.
DEPARTURE FROM VULCANO TO MILAZZO
04:00 pm : Departure from Vulcano for the visit from the sea the Cave horse and Venus Pool.

ARRIVAL AT MILAZZO
05:30 pm : Return to the Port of Milazzo.
